Hello ladies,

You wouldn’t believe how amazing Epsom salts are and the amazing things you can use them for and the benefits they give. As well as the renowned Epsom salts bath I talked about (Link to: Why Our Grandmas Believed in Epsom Salts Baths) there are some brilliant tips I wanted to share. By the way, Epsom salts can be bought very easily and cheaply online.

1. Body Scrub

This is brilliantly refreshing and simple. Simply masssage handfuls of crystals onto your damp or wet skin before getting into a bath or shower to wash them off. This will exfoliate and vitalise your skin as it also draws toxins and fluids from the skin.

2. Instant Facial Cleanser

If you’re prone to spots mix half a teaspoon of Epsom salts with your cleanser. Massage into your skin and wash off with cool clean water. The skin will absorb the magnesium which rejuvenates, rehydrates and naturally cleanses your face.

3. Homemade Face Pack

For your own amazingly luxurious face pack. This is to be applied to damp skin. For normal to oily skin, mix 1 tablespoon of cognac, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of non-fat dry milk, the juice of 1 lemon, and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt. For normal to dry skin, mix 1/4 cup of grated carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoons of mayonnaise and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt.

4. Hair Volumiser

Save money on hair products with this technique. Epsom salts help boost hair texture as, much like sea salt, it draws excess oils from the hair leaving it thicker and more bouncy. You can add a handful of salts to your shampoo and wash as normal. Or you can add it to your conditioner by mixing one part Epsom salts with one part conditioner and melting together in a pan on a low heat. Massage this into your hair and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse out with clean water. Your hair will look fuller and feel softer, and the minerals will help to repair and strengthen heat-damaged ends. Amazing!

5. Foot Soak

If you’re suffering with swollen, hot feet after a long day then soaking them in a large bowl of hot water with half a cup of Epsom salts will work wonders. Soak your feet for twenty minutes then dry the off The salts will remove odours and soften dry or hard skin which you can remove with a pumice stone. So simple and refreshing.
