As a makeup artist I can totally appreciate great lipstick for your wedding day. Two sisters from Manchester, Kitty and Helen, have taken this idea and run with it, creating a line of lipsticks that are designed specifically with brides in mind.

There are 5 colours in the range which are designed to suit all skin tones, are moisturising, non-bleeding and long lasting.

We caught up with the girls and quizzed them on everything from their inspiration to the lipstick creation.

What are your backgrounds?

Helen: we have both had a passion for makeup and beauty since we were little, Kitty owns two successful beauty salons in north west England; her first salon based in Macclesfield opened 9 years ago. Instead of going into beauty I studied Events Management at university where my love for weddings started.

How long did the process take from your initial idea to the actual product?

Helen: we had our initial idea for Love, Honour and Be True in May 2012 when we were discussing the lip colour Kitty was wearing as it was what she wore on her wedding day; this sparked an idea for selling lipstick for your wedding and that evening I wrote a business plan and within a couple of weeks we had found our manufacturers. With delays due to trade marks and manufacturers lead times we finally received our lipsticks in January 2014.

Where can brides buy the lipsticks?

Our lipsticks are available online at www.lovehonourandbetrue.com or via one of our amazing and talented Makeup Artists who also carry our products. A list of our stockists are available on our website; and if you’re looking for a makeup artist for your wedding these ladies are highly recommended.

Will you be expanding the range?

Yes we are looking to get some more lipstick shades and perhaps a couple of glosses.

What do people need to know about the lipsticks before they buy them?

Kitty: Before you buy your wedding lipstick you need to decide what look you want to achieve. If you’re going for a pretty and flawless, soft whimsical look; I’d choose “Just Married” Or a strong, sexy look then I’d choose “Love Story”.

What are your favourite bridal makeup looks?

Kitty: I absolutely love very feminine pretty looks. With nudes, golds and pink blush shades. It is so important to have defined brows and beautiful lashes. This, teamed with a soft blush lip, is perfection.

Big white wedding or Boho fairytale?

Helen: I’m currently planning my wedding which will be in 2016 and my bridal theme will be more boho than big white wedding.
Kitty: I like a mixture of the two. Maybe a Big white boho chic wedding!

Who is your favourite wedding dress designer?

We are big fans of Elizabeth Stuart. We were lucky enough to attend her Fall 2014 show at London Bridal Fashion Week and her designs are breathtaking.

What one beauty product can you not live without?

Helen: Love Honour and Be True lipstick ‘I Do’. It’s such a great shade! This paired with great Russian Layered lashes and I’m good to go!
Kitty: Well I do love my lashes, we get them done at my salon Beauty Reborn, but the one product I couldn’t live without would be Love, Honour and Be True “Love Story” lipstick. It is such a fab red that suits any outfit or occasion. Everyday needs a bit of glamour.
All colours retail at £12 per lippy. To find out more and to get in touch with the girls, visit their website here.
