Today I want to talk to you about four superfood berries you must eat!
Gram for gram these berries contain more vitamin C than some oranges and more beta-carotene than carrots. They have been hailed as the ‘new superfood’ for their link to treating cancer, diabetes, malaria, hypertension and other ailments.
Blueberries contain catechins and according to research at Tufts University, regularly ingesting catechins increases abdominal fat loss by 77 percent and doubles total weight loss. According to the NHS, blueberries are a good source of vitamin K. They also contain vitamin C, fibre, manganese and other antioxidants (notably anthocyanins).
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamins C and K as well as providing a good dose of fibre, folic acid, manganese and potassium. Strawberries are also a natural teeth whitener and we all know that you will be showing plenty of your pearly whites on your wedding day!
What many of you may not know is that these delicious little berries belong to the rose family! Raspberries have the highest proportion of Vitamin C on the scale of our body’s daily requirement of nutrients. They can deliver an amazing 32% of our daily requirement. They boast a high level of over 16 vitamins and minerals.
