This week I was lucky enough to join Ella Woodward of Deliciously Ella at a charity event for Kids Company that she hosted at Paradise by way of Kensal Green, a bohemian style pub that made me feel warm and cosy the minute I stepped in.
I have been mildly obsessed with Ella, along with the rest of the world, for a while now so when a friend of mine made me aware of the event we literally couldn’t buy our tickets fast enough! I was driving at the time and pulled my car over so that I could get them then and there, obviously I was paranoid that they would sell out. Wise decision because apparently they did so in less than 24 hours! #beingobsessedpaysoff
Meg and I arrived and went to the bar. Meg ordered a glass of red wine (I scoffed at her for ordering alcohol and such a healthy event) and I ordered a virgin Mary (I felt a little bit like the virgin Mary herself choosing to leave the voddy out). I am a complete Virgin/Bloody Mary connoisseur and this was one of the best I have ever had in my life! If you visit Paradise make sure you get this guy to make it for you.
Meg and I were (of course) the first to arrive so we were able to choose where we sat. Shortly after we sat down we were joined by two more girls who both came on their own. Carla, an arty fashion designer from Argentina and Annie, an equally arty artist from Bermuda. The four of us spent most the evening chatting and munching on the most delicious food!
Once everyone had sat down Ella took the time to come around and chat to everyone which was so lovely. She is as I expected, soft and gentle with a healthy glow! Although I really don’t need to say it, the food was amazing. Ella told us that the week before she had been through the menu with the chef at the Paradise to make sure that everything was made to perfection, which is was.
It was the most wonderful evening with incredible food and great company and all for a good cause. To make your donation now please follow this link. The best part of it all was that Meg and I left the evening with two new friends who are equally as Ella obsessed (which is hard to find!).
